Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book

Have you noticed the adult coloring trend that’s been hitting everyone around you? If not, maybe it’s time you did. Adult coloring books are so very relaxing and they’re great for keeping the mind creative. When I hit my upper teens and then twenties, I was actually disappointed. I would color little kid coloring books and I felt I could no longer color after a few not-so-kind words people had with me. It was really one of the things I did to help control my emotions. Adult coloring books are now the thing to have, and I’m super happy to own this Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book!

This adult coloring book, has inspirational quotes inside and some rather intricate designs. Some are more detailed than others. This is my favorite picture in the book though. It looks as if the quote blew her mind, which made it all that much more appealing to me. This picture book by Lifestyle Dezign Coloring features mandalas, paisley, henna-inspired patterns and more. It’s got 40 pages to it, and few blank ones to spare in the back, in case you are ever inspired to create your own art.

What are the benefits to Adult Coloring Books?

The intricate designs can really help your mind focus, be creative, relax and at the same time, improve fine motor skills. These are great art therapy, especially for those needing a mental health break. I find every time I’m majorly stressed or angry, coloring can help calm my nerves and place me into more of a zen-mood. Studies have been shown that art therapy can be good for people dealing with a variety conditions, such as depression, dementia, anxiety, and PTSD. I, myself, am bipolar, and have PTSD. (Depression and anxiety are a daily issue.) I can lose myself in coloring and zone-out with the wonderful pages helping me express my emotions.

This book is good for crayons (with fine points) and colored pencils. If you must, you can use markers. However, you will need to put a few pieces of paper between the pages, if you wish to prevent bleeding. The only downside to this particular adult coloring book is the fact that the coloring pages are not perforated. If you want to tear a page out, you will need scissors or you will risk tearing some of the designs. My other complaint is that the quotes are on the back of the pages. I wish they were under the drawings, as many of them have more than enough room to include it. Some of us actually like to display our art work and the quotes may be nice to have under them! I do overall enjoy this very zen adult coloring book and I hope everyone decides to check it out!
